Notes:

Laser protection glasses were manufactured in the Falcon Building at Rochester using similar technology to that employed on the Diffractive Head Up Displays. The Company had a number of small contracts to build glasses; the largest order was for the British Army and some were also made for pilot protection and yet others were made for Ground Crew protection. The actual wavelengths the glasses protect against are of course classified.

These Glasses were designed for Ground Crew presumably as a protection against exposure to aircraft mounted systems such as Laser Rangefinders.
There are four labels inside the case reading:
LABEL 1:
"GO/NO GO TEST" The devices may be used in service if :-
a) the lenses are not cracked and
b) no obvious changes of colour are present and
c) the two lenses appear the same colour.
LABEL 2:
"FOR OPERATIONAL USE ONLY
PROTECTION NOT PROVIDED
TO BS 4803
LASER PROTECTIVE DEVICE"

LABEL 3:
"Cleaning” The transparent surfaces may be cleaned using the cloth provided using the same care
as for normal spectacles."

LABEL 4:
"Kit comprises :-
