This is likely to be the Dual Combiner fitted to the F-16A/B for the Dassault Mirage III exports in the early 80’s. The PDU had an F-5 back end with F-16A/B optics but never sold any. The development of the advanced coating technology was first successfully carried out by Watshams (later absorbed into PPE ). Pilkington made their first Dual Combiner with graded coatings in the early 1980’s for a project called SINT but that project eventually used a single combiner.
