Notes:

This LVPSU was fitted to an F-16C/D style Electronics Unit in a demonstrator HUD system fitted to the Sierra T-38 in 1996 by Tracor.

The Low Voltage Power Supply Unit (LVPSU) was a major part of the F-16 type of Head-Up Display system's Electronics Unit (EU). The LVPSU takes in aircraft power at 115V 400Hz and 28VDC and conditions it to the voltages required by the internal electronics. The LVPSU is mounted on the EU's hollow coldwall on the face opposite the EU's Circuit Boards such that heat is conducted into that coldwall which is cooled by filtered cold air blown through its hollow core.

The LVPSU was identical for the F-16C/D and LANTIRN HUD systems but some of the other platforms that this HUD system was used on may have different aircraft power rails from the usual 115VAC 400Hz and 28VDC, resulting in a unique electrical front end.
