Delivery Performance
The Customer Support Services, Avionics Group have significant business maintaining commercial airline equipment, not necessarily made by BAE Systems. This award shows that in 2001 British Airways were more than satisfied with the support and gave the Company ‘High Flyer’ status.
British Airways unveiled a new identity on June 10, 1997. This was an attempt to rid themselves of a stuffy, overly British image and become a truly worldwide airline. The new identity was developed with Newell & Sorrell. A new ribbon symbol was developed, which would sit prominently at the front of the fuselage. It was called the "Speedmarque", hinting its link back to the old BOAC speedbird symbol.
This award echoes the shape of the Speedmarque but in a polished steel finish.
