The Pilot’s Control Unit is designed to enable both pilots to control the aircraft through either of the two auto-pilot/flight directors and autothrottles. The control unit contains the following:
System engage switches for Auto-throttle, Flight Director and Autopilot.
Mode selector push buttons
Heading/Track VOR course selector
Altitude selector for Altitude Acquire and Altitude Alert
IAS Selector for Autothrottle
This AFCS Panel was found in a Hut full of old rubbish in 2012. It was incomplete but was refurbished by a model maker and was shipped to France in 2013 where it is installed on Concorde F-WTSA at Orly Airport.
In 1971 a replacement Control Panel was priced at $26,300
