This uses standard plug-in sub-modules. Each sub-module constitutes a specific functional block and the rear connections (and a few passive components) join then to perform the overall function(s) of the module.
Note the gold sockets and the key-holes that ensure only the correct sub-module type can be plugged into each position.This was an early attempt, probably in the early 1960’s, to create a replaceable module.
The 1968 Elliott Parts List shows Electronic Sub-assemblies with similar numbers used on the HS748 for the RAAF.
