Laser protection glasses were manufactured in the Falcon Building at Rochester using similar technology to that employed on the Diffractive Head Up Displays. The Company had a number of small contracts to build glasses; the largest order was for the British Army and some were also made for pilot protection and yet others were made for Ground Crew protection. The actual wavelengths the glasses protect against are of course classified.
These Glasses were designed for Ground Crew presumably as a protection against exposure to aircraft mounted systems such as Laser Rangefinders.
Laser protection glasses without a case and with side-arm marked:
"ARS6540 50 x 24 x 90".
