Mirage HUD Up-Front Control Panel

This Pilots Display Unit is another derivative of the F-16A/B and was designed for an upgrade to the Spanish Air Force Dassault Mirage III fighters. The Up Front Control Panel was quite sophisticated having a four row VFD display panel set with a four by five block of push buttons to the left and a two by five block to the right. Below this panel is a conventional set of switches and knobs for the HUD functions, Altimeter settings and Communications; interestingly the legends are all in English. At the top of the UFCP is a Video Camera recording the HUD symbology and outside world.
The contract with the Company was unfortunately cancelled but 40 HUDs were built and they were later used with some adaptation on another contract.
