The pocket Aneroid Barometer is signed by John Henry Steward, who was trading as an Optician (which meant optical instrument maker in the 19th century) at the combination of addresses shown between about 1866 and 1880.The instrument is double ended with its original leather case. The instrument is calibrated in inches of Mercury (ins Hg) and feet so it could function as an Altimeter.
The Barometer was acquired from the collection of the late Ron Howard
