Not a barometer, but a weather forecaster into which barometer, wind etc. readings were entered. Negretti & Zambra were well-known makers of meteorological instruments. The partnership of Henry Negretti and Joseph Warren Zambra began in 1850 in Hatton Garden, London and continued well into the 20th century.
The forecaster is made of brass with engraved scales and wording. The instrument can be used with any type of Barometer (provided the readings are reduced to sea level). The instrument is mounted in a pigskin case lined with velvet. The instrument has a stand attached to the rear.
The instructions for use are shown in the leaflet which is in very poor condition..
The weight of the case is 38gms.
This instrument was donated by the family of the late Ron Howard in 2019.
