Pocket surveying compass, with a sighting arrangement so the compass bearing was seen in the mirror at the same time as the distant object being viewed with the sighting vane. The compass was manufactured by Elliott Brothers between 1854 and 1865. This version his has no serial No. but has a silver spindle and is marked L.F.Heath.
