MADE IN ENGLAND
This brass plated instrument has an interesting horseshoe base. A vertical pointer is rigidly fixed to the base. Pivoting to the pointer is a scale arc which can be set in one degree intervals from 0 to 90 degrees. There is a long arm calibrated in sixteenth of an inch divisions engraved from 2 to 4½ inches; the long arm ends with a finger plate. The device is believed to be a Gunnery instrument, for adjusting the angle of the barrel.
The instrument was donated from the Ron Howard Collection in 2019.
