The Protractor has the name 'Elliott Bros London'
These ivory rectangular protractors were made initially by Watkins Hill but when Elliott Bros took over that company in 1856, they were marked Elliot Bros The protractor probably dates from the 2nd quarter of the nineteenth century. It is the small (4 1/2”) size typically placed in small pocket cases.
The Sector was acquired with the Collection of the late Ron Howard (A similar version can be seen in the Elliott Collection at The Museum of the History of Science in Oxford)
