The Telescope was acquired with the Collection of the late Ron Howard. There is no Makers name on the instrument so it cannot be proven to have been manufactured by Elliott Bros. Elliott Bros certainly made telescopes and the Elliott brothers had filed a patent in 1868 for the invention of ‘improvements in telescopes.’
This is a ‘two drawer’ telescope meaning that there are two extending tubes from the main body.
The telescope body is made of brass; it has a lens cap and a rather odd screw-in eyepiece that does not seem to fit this instrument. .
The dimensions given are in the closed position. The extended length is 328mm.
