Naval Compass Stabiliser Mk1. A three axis Master Reference system for all stabilisation requirements
This model was made for Marconi Avionics Ltd and shows the various modes of operation of the Naval Compass system (NCS1). The ship rocks gently while cycling through a range of actions where the stabilisation of the system is needed such as gunfire and radar systems. The workings of the model are an impressive collection of motors gears, perspex cams and fibre optics such that it can rightly be called an automaton.
