Module fitted in the Space Reference Unit of the Naval Compass Stabiliser. Sensing the internal temperature of the space reference housing which contains the gyros.
There are four thermostats (made by Sunstrand Data Control Inc. type M560). They monitor the following:
THT1 - opens once the SRU case temperature reaches 55°C.
THT2 - closes when the standby case temperature is reached and then provides the standby acquired signal allowing further sequencing of the system.
THT3 - opens if the case temperature exceeds 65°C (used in series with the emergency OFF circuit).
THT4 - opens if the case temperature falls below 40°C (used for Built-In Test Equipment [BITE] purposes).
