F-16 HUD symbology fault finding, with conversation between what seem like ground crew and a HUD engineer trying to replicate the conditions that cause a fault on the display.
The 1st image is of the HUD showing a video image of the hangar interior along with stroke written symbology. By trying various signal conditions the fault (in which the video image element briefly collapses) is replicated (2nd image).and then recovers (3rd image). All this happens in a fraction of a second.
Replicating faults in the field is quite challenging, especially if it only occurs under flight conditions! On this occasion it seems the fault was successfully reporoduced on the aircraft and on the ground!
Identifying the conditions that caused the fault, hopefully allowed the HUD engineers to identify its cause and fix it!
