Claude Lyons

The Claude Lyons Group was founded in 1918 and is still in private ownership.  Since their early days they have been innovators in areas related to voltage and power control and more recently in energy saving and harmonic mitigation. Operating as a global exporter with many years experience they claim to be a world leader in the field of voltage stabilisers, power conditioning and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Drawing on the long history from 1926 of the former British Electric Resistance Company ("BERCO") the products of which became part of the Claude Lyons range in 1976, the company supplies high quality resistors to a vast range of users including laboratories, industry and defence.

In 1985 they acquired the Transformer and Electrical Company Limited (TEC®) (founded in 1941), who design, build and market a wide range of power transformers, chokes and power supplies.

The Claude Lyons group operates from its spacious and well equipped freehold factory of 35,000 sq ft (3250 sq m) at Waltham Cross, Herts, which we have occupied since 1979.
