Bill Alexander was at this time Assistant Managing Director of Marconi Avionics and Chief Executive of the Rochester site and he is standing behind six of the Queen's Awards for Industry. Up to 2002 the Rochester site had won this award variously for Innovation and/or export some seventeen times. This particular ceremony was for the double award for Technology to MASD and for Export to the site.
