The Airframe and Engine Fitter's Manual

This book is intended to be in the largest sense of the term a practical work, and it aims at bringing together in a small compass, and in form convenient for reference, those items of information directly useful for the servicing of aircraft.
By the introduction of American aero-engines into this country a need has arisen for practical information relating to the Bendix Scintilla Polar inductor magneto, “Holley,” “Ceco,” and Stromberg carburettors. Accordingly, opportunity has been taken to incorporate the appropriate information.
It has also been considered opportune to include particulars of a recent innovation in aero-engine practice — the electrically-operated variable-pitch propellers.
For convenience and ready reference the work is divided into chapters, comprising one or more sections, depending on the length to which the subject has been treated.
Finally, it is hoped that an assiduous study of the work will prove useful to all engaged on the maintenance of aircraft.
